patience of a spider

Suspended from the ceiling

motionless

you look like a statue

Frozen

transfixed by your stillness

Spellbound

Without warning you drop

Swifly

Your delicate invisible strand

Smoothly

your long legs are still

gliding

you reach your target

Pausing

I watch, wait, wonder

Patience

I will apply the same

Composure

You are always a beautiful

facination

Free as a bird

Cage door opens

bird perches on the edge

Unsure of whats outside

of the bars of the cage

Hesitantly,launches

bird flies fast and high

landing high in a tree

Bird is free

I want to be, Free as a bird

to choose what I do

When I have a holiday

Take a break for lunch

Not to be on the hamster wheel

Not to be dictated too

Self sufficient, live my life

As free as a bird, not locked in a cage

List of Lists

I am a list writer

for almost everything

List for the shopping,

which I will leave behind

A long list in the lounge

of all the jobs in pending

some will have a tick by friday

The chances are it will be longer

There is a list in the shed

of the garden jobs a waiting

there’s one for the car

Its so untidy in there

Lists on a Monday, grows on a tuesday

it carries on for Wednesday and thursday

By Friday and the weekend, there are lists of lists

So on Monday I start the list again

This weekend i need to complete them

Why you ask ? the answers simple

To clear the head, the mess the muddle

Tidy house, makes a tidy mind.

A little spot of rain

Slate clouds fill the sky

Drops of rain fall steadily

Wind whips around the trees

thunder rumbles islowly

The storm arrives with vengence

Rain pours from the sky heavily

It pushes its way through the sealed window

The patio becomes a pond as the water rises

Lightening carves its way through the slate

The water collects with nowhere to go

A branch snaps as the wind takes hold

A clap of thunder startles me

Slate clouds turn to pale grety

Wind blows softly

Rain drops become little spots

The water is dying away.

Uninvited Ghost

There is something not quite right

Something feels a little weird

The door which I closed this morning

Is now ajar. I stand still

My heart beats loudly, inside my head

I walk into the lounge, its silent

I cant quite work out whats missing,

I stand still looking around

The fish pump is quiet, its not working at all

I look at the plug, its turned off

The phone is unplugged as well,

Something here is not right

I sit silently, I take it all in

An old lady died here last year

Is she trying to tell me something?

I really don’t want a ghost here.

I shake myself together,

It must have been me,

Not with it this morning,

There is no uninvited ghost here.

Joined the Matrix

I’ve gone and done it,

I can’t believe it,

Have I become a sheep?

I’ve joined the Matrix

I bought an iphone,

joined the apple club

part of the Mac union

I’m now in the Matrix

Its white and shiny

Still in its box

I’m not quite sure what to do

I am sure someone will help me

I’m not really a sheep,

I’m not really in the club

I am part of the group

I know I’m in the Matrix
