Summer Weather

Wind blew battering the trees

Furious and fast

Stirring up the leaves

Howling a gale

.

Rain fell swirling with the wind

Hard and wild

Drenching the ground

Falling sideways

.

Sky was grey as slate

Clouds moving quickly

Letting go of their rain

Darkening the day

.

I wanted the sun

Just a glimmer of hope

A small rainbow to be seen

No such chance

.

The rain persistently falling

Grizzly weather

Felt like autumn

In the middle of Summer

Two chips honest

It was an ordinary day

I was being good

Scrambled egg for breakfast

and a salad for my lunch

A fatal thing happened

He went and ruined it all

He wafted chips under my nose

funny how you can go off people

did he share you asked

he was trying to force me

did I resist wildly

absolutely I did

did they taste amazing

they might well have done

I only had a little taste

Two chips honest

just a little sin

Par or under Par that is the question?

I know nothing of golf

As I sit and watch

The men they stand

And eye up the hole

They ponder and think

They look and look

They slice the ball

High into the air

As it lands on the green

They walk, they talk

Decide on a club

Then time to putt

To gently stroke the ball

Encouraging it into the hole

So I sit and watch

The ball flying high

I have no idea of the game

The rules the regulations

I’m as blonde as it comes

It’s either this or the racing again

Its gentle, it’s quite

It’s thinking time

No matter how much I watch

I will never get

Par Under par or birdie

Tickerty-boo

It iwas an average sort of day

Unremarkable and unexceptional

Adequate in small talk

And tolerable weather

For a British summer

Nothings on a downer

As the lunch time comes my way

Weathers more acceptable

The sun has shown his face

It’s fair to moderate

One might say hunky-dory

And by the end of the day

Everything is plain sailing

Quite a decent day

In fact

It was all quite

Tickerty-boo

Rise above

Orange sun rose above the horizon

Spread its warm glow across the sky

Smile on the face of a woman

As she started her day

Rise above the words echoed

The squabbling, the shouting the petty remarks

Ignore trivial matters today

No being burdened with unkind words

Stop others concerns weighing her down

Adopt a better attitude than other

She was determined to rise above

Head held high

Gentle smile

Happy lilt in her voice

She was completely resolute

Not to lower herself to their level

Remain focus, and calm

As she rose above the day.

Gift of wings

We have a short moment in time

A snapshot of measurement

Moments, day’s months and years

To make the most of

.

Each day lived in, Filled with doing

Sometimes silence and peace

Pondering time, soaking up dreams

Making plans for the future

.

Regrets left behind, Memories are made

Living for the now not the past

Laughing enjoying each day

Future is inevitable not planned

.

You filled my life with adventures

Showered me with kindness

Offered me love, shared yourself

You lifted my grief, showed me life

.

I live in the moment,

I soar with contentment

I fly free with

This gift of wings

A real map

map

Map laid out, Deciding a route

I study it carefully.

Which roads to choose

Map in the back

Sat nav on, what a mistake

It guides me, the pink route

It doesn’t look right

‘re calculating’ it says

‘at the next available road turn round’

I don’t want to turn round

This is the right way.

Ditching the sat nav

I try my phone, Google guides me

No voice, No noise

Destination is found.

I check the sat nav

Where was it taking me

Gatwick airport,

Last know destination

I should have stuck with the map

The old fashioned way
