Yesterday’s Rose

As autumn arrives
Your petals slowly fade
Your precious bloom
Almost gone
Winter waits around the corner
You are yesterday’s rose
Today’s pleasure
And tomorrow’s promise
That you will bloom again
In the fines of time

Worth getting up for

This is the sort of morning that

The dew sparkles on the grass

The sun shines through the trees

Casing elongated shadows

Adorning the deep leaf carpet

The nip in the air tingles on the lips

Spider’s webs wait, hang between trees

Holding diamond droplets of dew

Waiting to stick to my face

Water bubbles and trickles

Gently meandering downstream

Birds gentling singing

In the canopy above

I stand in the warm sun

And close my eyes

It could almost be summer

Then the nip of the air

Tingles on my lips

And I remember autumn has arrived

And this is a day

Worth getting up for.

Summer Weather

Wind blew battering the trees

Furious and fast

Stirring up the leaves

Howling a gale

Rain fell swirling with the wind

Hard and wild

Drenching the ground

Falling sideways

Sky was grey as slate

Clouds moving quickly

Letting go of their rain

Darkening the day

I wanted the sun

Just a glimmer of hope

A small rainbow to be seen

No such chance

The rain persistently falling

Grizzly weather

Felt like autumn

In the middle of Summer
