A Perfect View

From the top of the hill

Forest stretches afar

Green patchwork hills

Sapphire blue sky

Wispy vapour trails

A  perfect view.

.

From the top of the cliff

Deep blue sea, Sun shimmering

White crests rising

Sailing boats bob up and down

Seagulls soar on the breeze

A perfect view

.

From the office window

Dark green trees

Blowing gently in the wind

Patchwork hiss in the distance

Pigeons bask in the sun

A perfect view

.

From the bedroom window

Small garden bursting with colour

Squirrels scampering across fences

Bees and flies sharing the air highways

Regardless of weather

Each a perfect view.

Happiness is…

Happiness is sun on my face

the hum of bees on the super highway

distant lawn mowers on a summers day

Children squealing with delight

The dog snuggling against me

.

Happiness inside me is

the feeling of love and kindness

the ability to smile at the world

the memories of my life

Choosing to be happy with all

Too early to rise

It’s 4am again, the clock tells me so

The bright morning sun has risen

It’s brightness shines through my window

I can’t believe how early it is again

The birds sing their morning song

The flies and bees buzz around my window

The dogs are barking in the distance

My mind is whiring, the day has begun

Every day, my internal clock does the same

The beautiful sunlight streams through my window

As much as I love this peaceful part of the day

I just want to wake a few hours later

I’ve tried listening to music to fall back to sleep

Hot chocolate, reading a book, turning my brain off

But still the 4am sun rise calls me

Tomorrow I am going to try something different

I close the curtains tight, no cracks at all

the alarm is switched off.

I sleep, a long deep dark sleep

I wake, I feel refreshed, there is no light

Nothing streams through the curtains

It’s 7am, i made it passed 4am

That is the answer, darken my room

Let my body clock adjust itself.

Honey Moon

Golden light shines from the sky

Honey Moon lights up the night

Just once ever hundred years does it shine

As a sign of whats to come

Maybe it sends shivers down your spine

or perhaps a fruitful summer

It sits low in the sky just above the horizon

The bees are in abundance

their hives steeped in honey

and for the summer solstice

the mead is drunk at many a wedding

And the honeymoon shines again
