Worth getting up for

This is the sort of morning that

The dew sparkles on the grass

The sun shines through the trees

Casing elongated shadows

Adorning the deep leaf carpet

The nip in the air tingles on the lips

Spider’s webs wait, hang between trees

Holding diamond droplets of dew

Waiting to stick to my face

Water bubbles and trickles

Gently meandering downstream

Birds gentling singing

In the canopy above

I stand in the warm sun

And close my eyes

It could almost be summer

Then the nip of the air

Tingles on my lips

And I remember autumn has arrived

And this is a day

Worth getting up for.

Heavenly bluebells

IMG_1495

Magnificent carpet of blue

Dense and deep

Against the new green leaves

Heady perfume surrounds

Cobalt heads nodding in the breeze

Rich to the eyes

As they sparkle in shards of sunlight

A magnificent display of fragrant splendour

Glorious in rain or sun

Spring lifts our sprits

As does the heavenly bluebells

Clarity again

With the whir of cogs

the wheels turn fast

the bright light shines

it tears into its work

.

With a suck so strong

inhaling the dust

vibrating the carpet

making light of its work

.

Inhale deep breaths

of woodland air

closing my eyes

refreshing my soul

.

fresh air it cleans

like the hoover at home

Clearing my mind

There is clarity again.
