Bones!

White yellow pink
Cod haddock salmon
Tuna river cobbler bass
All my favourite fish
One little problem
That I cannot bare
Whitebait prickly bones
Soft pilchard bones
Sharp kipper bones
Bones that crunch
Why ouch why
Am I the lucky one?
With a pile of bones
Adoring my plate
Just me, no one else
I do love fish
But I do loath bones
I quite wonder
Should I stick to
Fish fingers?

Conversations of fish

So today Napowrimo’s prompt was to write a conversation. I have chosen fish….

fish

.

The red tail, he’s an interloper

Is he really? how do you know?

Well we have been here for ages

Ages, have we are you sure?

Yes, well the plants are different

What do you mean?

The plants have grown

They might be new?

Well he’s an interloper

He’s certainly bossy

Did he pick a fight with you?

Oh yes, I shot under the stone

That a good hiding place

They watched the red tail,

He glided through the tank

You know, I think he’s sad

I think he needs a friend

Shall we be his friend?

We could give it a go

Do you want to be friends?

They asked the red tail

He flicked his tail shooting round the tank

Oh yes, I really would like friends

I have been very lonely

And the little fish were delighted

They wanted everyone to be happy in their little box.

My mind is like a river flowing

My mind ebbs and flows gently

thoughts pop in and out at will

there are no rules here

Just allow nature to take it’s course

That important thought has gone again

it was floated away by many musings

I struggle to remember what it was

however it has  gone now

My mind is like a river flowing

it is uncontrollable from the outside

if you want to catch a fish

then you must catch it when you see it.

Suspended in water

Suspended in water

tiny fluttering of fins

you work so hard to remain

Motionless

You dart, twist and turn

scoot between rocks

Chase one anthers to

entertain

Floating in the bubbles

created by the pump

I see you bask, do they

Tickle?

I come to your tank

you come to greet me

are you looking at me

the way i’m looking at you

You are not free

held in a tank

I am not free

bound to a house

I am thankful for your serenity

you give me peace

you capture me, mesmerize me

I thank you
