Ghost Walk

As the sun went down

And darkness approached

We waited with baited breath

Then out of the shadows, A man appeared

Dressed in Edwardian clothes.

Top hat and cloak

a cane in one hand

.

A medieval city, haunted with charm

As he started his curious tales,

With a whisper of caution,

And an evil laugh

The story starts to unfold.

We strain to hear his words.

We look for ghosts in silence

.

Quietly walking through cobbled streets

Straining to see in the dark

Mist rises up from the ground

A eerie silence rests upon us

We stop by a vacant shop

And in the window a flickering light

A blood curdling sound from above

.

Heart beating fast, holding my breath

A cold damp feeling touches my neck

Sends shivers down my spine

As I peer through my fingers

The shadows dance around

In the flaming light

I wonder what is next

.

Then the wickedest of laughs

Resonates through my head

As the flickering flame disappears

And out of the shadows steps

Our guide with a smile and says

There no ghosts here tonight.

Uninvited Ghost

There is something not quite right

Something feels a little weird

The door which I closed this morning

Is now ajar. I stand still

My heart beats loudly, inside my head

I walk into the lounge, its silent

I cant quite work out whats missing,

I stand still looking around

The fish pump is quiet, its not working at all

I look at the plug, its turned off

The phone is unplugged as well,

Something here is not right

I sit silently, I take it all in

An old lady died here last year

Is she trying to tell me something?

I really don’t want a ghost here.

I shake myself together,

It must have been me,

Not with it this morning,

There is no uninvited ghost here.
