Snow White’s Robin

Day 21 of napowrimo

I saw her coming closer

She didn’t see me hide

I watched her knock on the door

I flew onto the roof.

No one answered, she stepped inside

I flew to the window sill.

She looked around the little house

I kept very still

She counted all the chairs

I was brave and hopped inside

She counted all the cups and plates

i watched her as she moved

she climbed the stairs and counted beds

i flew to the edge of the room

She lay down on the little bed

I hopped onto the post

She closed her eyes and dozed right off

I closed my eyes as well.

Suddenly I heard loud shouts

My feathers shook

‘Who is this girl’ a little man said

I wanted just to hide

She opened her eyes and said ‘hello’

The little men stood back

‘Hello little robin were you looking after me?’

She asked as she stroked my head

I nodded slowly and looked around

The seven men were not pleased

‘I’m Snow White, can i stay a while?’

She asked the one with the ears

They nodded slowly, no one spoke

She got right out of bed.

And with that they followed her down the stairs

And i flew overhead

She made them dinner

We all sat down

And that’s how the story started

As for the bad bits

We will skip them now

I rather like the way it is

Happiness and lots of smiles

Snow white, seven dwarves and

Me the little red robin

Who watched the story unfold.

Spirit in the Sky

Black menacing clouds gather above

Sharp Cracks of thunder roll around the sky

Bright lights flashes lights up the dark

Then lightening forks rush downwards

Deep sinister clouds swell in numbers

Rain batters against the window

Looking deep into this dark obscurity

What do they hide behind their darkness?

Spirits in the sky, desperate to break free

Conversations of fish

So today Napowrimo’s prompt was to write a conversation. I have chosen fish….

fish

.

The red tail, he’s an interloper

Is he really? how do you know?

Well we have been here for ages

Ages, have we are you sure?

Yes, well the plants are different

What do you mean?

The plants have grown

They might be new?

Well he’s an interloper

He’s certainly bossy

Did he pick a fight with you?

Oh yes, I shot under the stone

That a good hiding place

They watched the red tail,

He glided through the tank

You know, I think he’s sad

I think he needs a friend

Shall we be his friend?

We could give it a go

Do you want to be friends?

They asked the red tail

He flicked his tail shooting round the tank

Oh yes, I really would like friends

I have been very lonely

And the little fish were delighted

They wanted everyone to be happy in their little box.

Hidden in a Cloak

Face is set with a smiling beam

Bounce in my feet as I enter the room

Joy in my voice as I converse with others

this is the me that others can see

The invisible cloak is worn today

I pull it tight, no gaps appear

It is my comfort blanket

I feel safe and warm

Why and what are you hiding

Hurt, for I cant say where the pain is

Sadness, for I cant show my tears

Disappointed, but I cant explain why

So hidden in the cloak

Are the bits that I cant share with the world

just for a while, I keep it tight around me

Self preservation, until I am stronger
