Spring day

Dark clouds race across the sky

Driving rain falls like curtains of lace

Wind blows in gusts bending still life

A shard of bright light breaks through

Delicate leaves ripped from branches

White shapes fall in swirls

Dancing, fluttering in blasts of air

Cherry blossom falls like flurries of snow

Another spring day is here

Look up not down

leaf

Down on the floor

I see my feet

The muddy path

The untidy carpet

I see my troubles

They are stuck there

They can’t move

I feel gloomy

.

Look up at the sky

I see fast moving clouds

Sun peaking through

Bright leaves on the trees

Unusual rooftops

Swirling smoke from chimneys

Birds merrily chirping

My difficulties are subsiding

I feel happy and bright

I look up not down

Stars Apart

Sky, black deep beckoning

Brightness of stars

Shine out at me

Can you see what I see

I wonder if they are the same

Do they shine brightly?

Can you feel their wonder?

Can you name them?

If we stood gazing at the stars

Would it be peaceful

Would we be as one?

As we are apart

I see my part of the sky

And where you are

Its different

I wonder what can you see

IĀ hope it is as beautiful as my sky

peace to my ears

waves

.

Green grey sea crashes forcefully

Booming waves land on the pebble beach

Fine spray shooting upwards the rocks,

Landing on the top, showering the limpets

.

Dark rock pools swell and rise

With swirling sea and small white crests.

Soft powder blue sky and tiny wispy clouds

Broken up by Vapour trails crisscrossing

.

Bright yellow sun beats down,

Glistening wet pebbles at the water edge

Heat of the sun warms the spring air,

An icy nip brushes against my face

.

Seagulls soaring on the warm breeze,

Gracefully across the pale blue sky

A small boat, bobs up and down gently,

Looking closely it thrashes around,

.

Smashing into the greying waves,

Fine spray flies upwards

Wind whips becoming stronger, harder, faster

Waves move in strongly,

.

The forceful wind, the waves crashing,

he seagulls screaching is peace to my ears

As I lose myself in my own thoughts

In the spring sun on the beach.

Bonfire Night

Cold air trails from my mouth

I can blow little circles

Dark is all around me

tiny candle lights appear in the distance

the bands pipe up with their music

the procession starts

Torch lights fill the sky

flames leaping upwards

people in fancy dress march through the street

and in the middle the GUY

shouting, whistling, cheering

as the people follow the crowd

they meet in a field

the bonfire is lit

it crackles quietly

whizz and bangs noises echo around

the sky is filled with a shower of light

bright blues, reds and greens

the crowd oohs and ahhs

and as the last firework finishes

the huge bonfire roars and crackles

the loud cheers and chants fade away

still is the night as we gaze into the flames
