Ashdown forest

Ancient tranquil heathland
Bathed in dappled light
Dark farrows start to change
As winter turns to spring
Purple heather grows in clumps
Yellow gauze dazzling in sunlight
Covering patches over the forest
In the heart of the high Weald
Lies a forest of natural beauty
Small rabbits dart around bracken
Deers graze camouflaged by trees
This home of Winnie the Pooh
Enchanted forest to explore
With pathways stretching
Across hills and downs
This Ashdown forest
Such a privilege to enjoy

Light of the Russian Doll

Dark is my space

No Sunlight, No twilight,

No moonlight, No starlight.

Hidden away, forgotten.

Silence falls around me

Only my memories

Talk in my head

Nestled in this void

No understanding of time

I once was beautiful

Painted elaborately

The smallest one

At the very heart

In the middle of the layers

Now movement

Gently at first then

Shaking, banging

Suddenly brightness

Searing, exciting

Releasing me from this space

Freedom and identity

My time to shine

As I am brought

Into the light

This is the day

morning

This is the day of morning dew

White cherry blossom, a canopy of shade

Bright Shards of sunlight, streaming through

.

Sweet perfumes carried in the breeze

Droplets of dew sit like jewels,on the grass

This is the day of morning dew

.

Sharp blue skies, puffy white clouds

Uplifting sunbeams, shine on my face

Droplets of dew sit like jewels,on the grass

.

Buds on trees waiting to burst

Heady scent rising from carpets of blue

Uplifting sunbeams, shine on my face

.

Dawn chorus awakens the season

This is the day of morning dew

Heady scent rising from carpets of blue

Bright Shards of sunlight, streaming through

Too early to rise

It’s 4am again, the clock tells me so

The bright morning sun has risen

It’s brightness shines through my window

I can’t believe how early it is again

The birds sing their morning song

The flies and bees buzz around my window

The dogs are barking in the distance

My mind is whiring, the day has begun

Every day, my internal clock does the same

The beautiful sunlight streams through my window

As much as I love this peaceful part of the day

I just want to wake a few hours later

I’ve tried listening to music to fall back to sleep

Hot chocolate, reading a book, turning my brain off

But still the 4am sun rise calls me

Tomorrow I am going to try something different

I close the curtains tight, no cracks at all

the alarm is switched off.

I sleep, a long deep dark sleep

I wake, I feel refreshed, there is no light

Nothing streams through the curtains

It’s 7am, i made it passed 4am

That is the answer, darken my room

Let my body clock adjust itself.
