Portrait

So Napowrimo has started once again. Im off to a bit of a slow start. Here is today’s poem, and hopefully there will be one every day until the end of April

One Perfect

Looking through a lens

The world condensed

His finger poised

Waiting for that moment

For one perfect picture

Trolley pulled in the midday sun

Selecting one club for a shot

Hovering above the ball

Waiting for the green to clear

For one perfect shot

Angry wind

You howl around the house
Bending branches
Thrashing against the window
What do you want?
So Desperate to engage with me
I’m non responsive
You Force the glass, it shakes
You Rattle the doors
You roar and moan
I don’t understand you
Your fury is forceful
I am quiet
I stop and listen
I hear your screams, your pain
Your howling drops to a breeze
You whisper, I see you now
You are calm again
The world is still once more

Unique Sunset

The evening’s crepuscular charm

With is whole setting sun

A brilliant pale yellow orb

Slowly lowering itself in the sky

Pouring out brilliant orange hues

Mixed with dark reds and browns

Filling the sky like molten lava

Painting the sky magnificently

Threads of light mingling with wispy clouds

Each layer, overlapping the brightness

Delicate and frail as they linger in the sky

Sitting patiently, waiting for the moment

For that one photo, that changes my world

Crisp air floats downwards, like a deflated balloon

The sky is captured, that moment in time

There will never be an identical sunset

Twilight has arrived

Natural Wonders of the World

sea sky

.

Natural wonders of the world

With your iridescent shine

Where can we find you

In the sea, sky or earth?

Are you abalone, blue as the sea?

Or conch pink and rare

Keshi, the Chinese reborn

Mikimolo and Quahog

Your names are unpronounceable

You have elegance and Lustre

You are all a mystery

What are you Tahitian of purity?

Lucky in Life

Images of lucky times

Bolder and brighter than every

Sounds are richer

Feelings stronger

Memories spread

Consuming my body

From the top of my head

To the tip of my toes

I feel so lucky

In every fibre of my body

The energy bubbles

Overflows so positively

To every corner of my life

To all that I  touch

I share with the world

100

One hundred poems,

One hundred words

One hundred stories

to share with the world

One hundred moments

One hundred thoughts

One hundred pains

which I shared with you all

From spiders and snails

to secrets and lies

Chimneys and legends

Conversations run wild

Shared on paper

shared in speech

shared by the internet

for all to reach

Every word written

My soul is set free

my life changes course

in one hundred poems
